Short answer: Prison with Narrative RPG. Real answer: something never done before. Each rank is a chapter. Each chapter has choices with real consequences. The system blends RPG, open world and narrative progression into a single experience. Calling AfterLands a "prison server" is technically correct, but it would be like calling a hurricane "strong wind".
Open Minecraft Java Edition (we recommend version 1.8.8), click Multiplayer and add the IP: mc.afterlands.com. No mods needed: resource packs install automatically. The server supports premium and non-premium accounts. AfterLands is still in development: join our Discord to follow along and be the first to play.
In traditional Prison, you mine to rank up. In AfterLands, each rank is a chapter of a story. You ascend through social classes in the city of Alkaz (from Survivor to Monarch) completing quests, making choices that shape the world, and unlocking new areas, NPCs and mechanics. It's Prison with an MMORPG flavor.
The server runs natively on Minecraft: Java Edition 1.8.8, the recommended version for best performance and PvP experience. It also works with newer versions like 1.20, 1.21 and above through extended support, play on whichever version you prefer. No mods required, only auto-installed resource packs.
There is no official release date yet. Quality doesn't work on arbitrary deadlines. Development is active, betas and alphas will come before the official launch, and you'll be informed through the proper channels. Join our Discord to stay updated.
